Clipper Ship Tour!
I had the awesome opportunity to board a clipper ship and tour the Hudson last weekend. It was absolutely lovely and gave a me new perspective of NYC. Nothing like seeing a place you’ve lived in from different a viewpoint. It was definitely refreshing and I would do it all over again!
For those of you that don’t know. The other woman in the video is Moni. She’s the owner of SEW Moni, my Greene & Sunset business partner, and a good NY friend of mine.

A Sunset Park Night

One of my favorite places to eat in SOHO, La Esquina. They have some awesome traditional Mexican food. Among my favorites to order are the tortilla soup which is super good with the fresh avocados and pico. They make awesome white rice too with some lime juice, pico, and fresh cooked corn.
I was actually craving this meal today for my early lunch, but they weren’t serving lunch yet :) Boo!

Scheduled to work at 7am on a Saturday and no manager is here to let me work… I LIVE for this!!!!!! Although it is a beautiful morning 73 degrees and breezy. Im watching the street vendors set up and the traffic thicken up. The guys from the cupcake truck keep trying to hit on me. If they would just give me a free cupcake, I might talk back. :)

The Park in Union Square - I really felt like a true new yorker this day…
Sitting in the park on a hot humid August afternoon eves dropping on the many conversations between the most interesting/diverse company of people. Listening to Jewish hippies play songs on their violin and mandolin and watching as they dance beneath the strong limbs of a tree glistening in the filtered sunlight.
While sitting, the sprinkler system turns on as a large woman sits next to us and thanks jesus for the water that was lightly misting across her back… a smirk interrupts my lips as I silently agree. My eyes move to the edges of the park, up over the tree line, and there I realize the orbiting traffic of honking taxis, brick buildings looming proudly overhead, and a pristine sky dotted with clouds crowning the orchestrated chaos below. There I realize just how small this living universe is and that I have a place in it… on a bench in union square.
